Warranty Terms & Conditions

This warranty is extended solely by Swastik Industries (manufacturer of Zen Batteries) to the original end-user purchaser. It is valid only for products purchased from an authorised Zen Batteries dealer or distributor within India and is subject to the conditions set out in these Terms.

The warranty is non-transferable. It applies to the original purchaser only and does not extend to subsequent owners in the event of resale.

Swastik Industries warrants that each Zen Batteries product shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service conditions, for the applicable warranty period. This warranty covers:

• Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship
• Premature capacity loss below 60% of rated capacity under normal operating conditions
• Plate sulphation attributable to a manufacturing defect (not caused by neglect, misuse, or improper maintenance)
• Physical defects in the battery container directly attributable to the manufacturing process

The warranty period varies by product category as indicated below. The actual warranty period for each model is printed on the product label and on the warranty card supplied with the battery. The warranty period commences from the date of purchase as evidenced by the original tax invoice.

Within the warranty period, Swastik Industries will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace a battery found to have failed due to a covered manufacturing defect, subject to inspection and confirmation by an authorised Zen Batteries service representative.

• Free replacement during the applicable free replacement period (refer to the warranty table in Section 3 for your product category)
• Pro-rata credit toward a new battery during the additional pro-rata period where applicable (see Section 6)
• No charge for inspection at an authorised dealer during the warranty period

This warranty does not cover, and no warranty claim will be entertained for, failure or damage caused by any of the following:

• Physical abuse, misuse, accident, neglect, or wilful damage by the user
• Incorrect installation, reversed polarity connection, or short circuit caused by user error
• Use outside specified voltage, current, temperature, or application parameters
• Failure to maintain proper electrolyte levels (for conventional wet / flooded batteries)
• Use of tap water, bore water, or impure water — only distilled or deionised water is permissible
• Overcharging, deep discharge beyond rated limit, or use with a faulty or incompatible charger/inverter
• Use in an application for which the battery was not designed or rated
• Damage caused by flooding, fire, earthquake, lightning, or other natural causes
• Theft or loss
• Purchase from an unauthorised dealer or grey-market source
• Batteries on which the product label, serial number, or warranty sticker has been tampered with, defaced, altered, or removed
• Batteries used in racing, motorsport, off-road competition, or other high-stress competitive events
• Normal wear and tear including natural capacity reduction over time due to age and cycle use
• Batteries charged using non-standard, non-OEM, or non-compatible charging equipment
• Addition of electrolyte, acid, or any other fluid to a sealed VRLA or Maintenance Free battery
• Damage caused by rodents, insects, or vermin

For product categories with a total warranty period exceeding 12 months, the following pro-rata terms apply after the initial free replacement period:

• If a manufacturing defect is confirmed after the free replacement period but within the total stated warranty period, the Customer is eligible for a pro-rata replacement credit.
• The credit is calculated as: (Remaining Warranty Months ÷ Total Warranty Months) × Current MRP of the equivalent replacement battery.
• The credit will be applied toward the purchase of a new Zen Batteries product of equivalent or higher specification from an authorised dealer.
• The pro-rata credit is non-transferable and has no cash value.

To initiate a warranty claim, follow these steps:

1. Contact your nearest authorised Zen Batteries dealer or distributor.
2. Present the original purchase invoice (showing date of purchase, model, and dealer details) and the warranty card supplied with the product.
3. The dealer or Swastik Industries service representative will conduct an on-site or in-store inspection of the battery.
4. If the defect is confirmed as a manufacturing defect, the battery will be repaired, replaced, or a pro-rata credit will be issued — at the sole discretion of Swastik Industries.
5. The decision of Swastik Industries' technical / quality team regarding the root cause and nature of the defect shall be final and binding.
6. Transportation costs for returning the battery to the authorised dealer or service centre shall be borne by the Customer.

• Replacement batteries will be of equivalent or the nearest available specification. Swastik Industries does not guarantee exact model-for-model replacement if the specific model has been discontinued.
• All replaced or repaired batteries become the property of Swastik Industries upon completion of the warranty claim.
• A replacement under warranty does not extend or renew the original warranty period. The replacement battery carries the remaining balance of the original warranty only.
• Each battery is eligible for only one warranty replacement during its warranty term.
• Warranty is strictly non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser as evidenced by the original invoice.

The warranty will be rendered void immediately if:

• The battery is opened, disassembled, modified, or subjected to any repair by a person not authorised by Swastik Industries.
• The battery is used in a vehicle, machine, or application that violates applicable local laws or regulations.
• Any attempt is made to add electrolyte, water, or any other substance to a sealed VRLA or Maintenance Free (MF) battery.
• The product is found to have been purchased from an unauthorised source.
• The warranty sticker, serial number label, or date code on the battery has been removed, altered, or defaced.

The warranty set forth in these Terms is the sole and exclusive remedy of the Customer with respect to any defect in or failure of a Zen Batteries product. To the fullest extent permitted under applicable law:

• Swastik Industries shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or in connection with the use of, or inability to use, the battery — including but not limited to vehicle breakdown costs, towing charges, loss of revenue, loss of business, or any other economic loss.
• The total liability of Swastik Industries under this warranty shall not, in any event, exceed the original purchase price of the defective product.
• This limitation applies even if Swastik Industries has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

These Warranty Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this warranty or the breach, termination, enforcement, interpretation, or validity thereof shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

By purchasing and using a Zen Batteries product, the Customer consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra for resolution of any warranty-related disputes.

Swastik Industries reserves the right to amend these Warranty Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The version of these Terms in effect at the time of purchase shall govern the warranty applicable to that product.
